About the DIY Kits

Viktoriya of Dollbelge, an enthusiastic doll-maker and avid user of our book Sunshine Dolls, has developed – in collaboration with the Sunshine Dolls Foundation and Mercurius International (distributor of Waldorf schools worldwide!) – a wonderful DIY kit for the Sunshine Cuddly Doll, designed for those who are new to doll-making.

Viktoriya calls our book ‘The Doll-Making Bible’ and her mission – just like that of our Foundation and Mercurius – is to offer as many children around the world as possible the chance to receive a doll lovingly handmade by a caring adult.

Her collaboration with artist Daniela Drescher has resulted in beautiful fabrics, postcards and other accessories. The kits therefore include a piece of cotton fabric in Daniela’s unique design, as well as a postcard in the same pattern.

We regard Viktoriya and her husband Ihor as ambassadors for our books.

Making dolls yourself is labour-intensive work, but it is also a lovely way to create something truly beautiful for a beloved child in a calm and focused setting.

And once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll naturally want to make all five Sunshine Dolls. There’s one to suit every stage of a child's development.
