This picture book tells Conny Dekker's story, when she was quite suddenly asked to stand in as a Kindergarten teacher at a local Waldorf school years ago.
She pondered on how she could help the children feel at ease, since they did not yet know her. Suddenly, an idea struck her. Some time earlier, she’d bought a little basket at a market and put a lovely lining in it. Felix, her cat, had quickly adopted it as his sleeping spot.
She’d also just made a Sunshine Cuddly Doll she called Little Sunshine and decided to take him along in the basket to help the children get used to her.
She quickly knitted a jumper for Little Sunshine the night before she went to work. And the next morning, she took him to school in his basket.

Janneke Rosenbrand, illustrator of the books and postcards, illustrated Little Sunshine's story, initially for her own children, and because we loved it so much too, Conny's story eventually became a picture book. It contains no text, so it can be ‘read aloud’ and experienced in any language.
